How many networks can my customers access?
It differs by country. Travel data customers will typically have two or more per place they visit; that's why there's 500+ networks across 190+ countries. Their device will attach to the network with the strongest signal as they move around different areas, which cuts the risk of dead spots. Some countries only have one network because it makes more sense for quality or other reasons – that's often in less popular travel destinations.
Customers on a UK mobile plan will only connect to Vodafone. Unless they're roaming abroad, that is.
Do you use aggregators?
No. Our wholesale relationships for travel data are direct with mobile operators, orchestrated across tier-one IMSI providers from four different markets. For UK mobile plans, we work directly with Vodafone.
What happens if one operator has a bad day?
For the vast majority of travel destinations there is no single point of failure outside our control. If routing moves, the customer won't notice. Customers of UK mobile plans get the same service as a direct Vodafone subscriber.
Is 5G included?
Yes, wherever the serving network supports it, at the same wholesale pricing.
Which countries only have one network?
A small number, mostly places very few travellers go. We'll tell you which ones before you launch, so nothing about your coverage comes as a surprise.
What does a customer notice when routing moves?
Nothing. The session carries on. They don't get a message, they don't reinstall anything, and they don't need to know it happened.
